Wits Health Consortium is excited to offer internship opportunities through the Youth Employment Service (YES) program. As a YES Intern, you will have the chance to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and collaborative research environment while contributing to meaningful projects that have a positive impact on public health.
Responsibilities
- Project Support: Assist with various research projects across different stages, from planning and data collection to analysis and reporting.
- Data Management: Collect, organize, and analyze data using relevant software and tools under the guidance of experienced researchers.
- Documentation: Prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation to communicate research findings effectively.
- Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including researchers, clinicians, and community partners to achieve project objectives.
- Learning and Development: Participate in training sessions, workshops, and seminars to enhance your research skills and knowledge.
- Compliance: Adhere to research protocols, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements to ensure the integrity and quality of research activities.
- Contribution to Innovation: Share ideas and insights to contribute to the innovation and improvement of research processes and methodologies.
Qualifications
- Recent graduate or final year student pursuing a degree in a relevant field such as public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, social sciences, or related disciplines.
- Passion for public health and a desire to make a positive impact on communities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn new software and tools.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Previous research experience or familiarity with research methodologies is desirable but not essential.
